at Tallinna Centre for Children at Risk
The Centre for Children at Risk offers a professional and supportive environment for students who wish to complete their internship in the field of social services and related disciplines. Our goal is to support future specialists who want to gain practical experience working with children, families and young people, as well as understand the daily operations of a social welfare institution.
We cooperate with vocational and higher education institutions and consider the individual learning objectives of each student.
Who Can Complete an Internship With Us?
We offer internship opportunities for students studying:
- social work
- social pedagogy
- psychology
- construction (building maintenance, repair coordination, technical support, etc.)
- culinary arts (kitchen work and food service organisation)
The number of available internship placements and the exact schedule depend on the institution’s capacity and the requirements of the study programme.
What Can Interns Learn Here?
An internship at the Tallinn Children’s Safe Centre provides the opportunity to:
- learn about the principles and processes of working with children, families and young people;
- understand the organisation and workflow of a social welfare institution;
- participate in teamwork, consultations, activities and everyday support;
- experience methods for preventing and resolving crisis situations;
- become familiar with quality management and safety principles (in accordance with ISO 9001:2015);
- develop professional skills in a supportive environment.
Interns from technical and support fields (construction, culinary arts) gain practical experience in tasks essential for the functioning of the organisation.
What We Expect From Interns
We expect that interns:
- have an interest in working with children, young people or in developing support services;
- demonstrate cooperation skills, honesty and responsibility;
- have the required documents and insurance as specified by their study programme;
- follow the values, rules and confidentiality requirements of the centre.
How to Apply for an Internship?
Students wishing to apply for an internship are asked to send:
- their CV,
- a referral/placement letter from their educational institution,
- a short description of their learning objectives.
